Happy Valentine’s Day y’all, I met a very cute stranger in the woods last week. He had the best set of dimples and, oddly enough, a copy of a very old chapter book jutting out of the back of his pants. Naturally, I stopped to talk to him. He walked ahead of me, so admittedly, I had to walk faster to meet him and then slow my pace to match his (clock it). I asked him about his book. Apparently, both his father and his grandfather read this book when they were children and now, in his adulthood, he is reading this story for himself. I don’t remember the name of the book, but it is a story of a young man who leaves home in search of his father and learns many things about himself, his life, and the world along the journey. A quest. As we spoke, he confessed that he is at a crossroads in his life and that he is doing his best to make the right decisions. I can relate. I’m at a crossroads too. We exchanged our individual crossroads conditions. I told him that he’d make the right decision. He told me to take the pressure off myself. The next day, I saw him again. This time, he was running in the opposite direction. We both nodded subtly and continued on our paths at our own paces. I haven’t seen him since.
