Happy Sunday Beloveds 🌞
I don’t know how it was for you all, but Gemini Season brought out a lot in me. Things including, but not limited to a quick tongue and a scattered brain opened me up in a new way and now I am much more aware of my range as a being. Last month, I shared with you all that I was unraveling, and now, in this Cancer season, I am going inward and getting more intimate with the pieces of myself that I have not yet nurtured.
Back in April, I attended an amazing poetry centered event with a beautiful lineup of poets and musicians. That night, poet, performer, and author, Sunni Patterson said, “Tonight, we are gonna grow up together.” I will admit that, then, I didn’t really know what she meant by that. I figured, “Yes, we’re gonna have this beautiful collective experience where we will learn together and be changed by the art.” But, I didn’t recognize just how profound her words were. Today, I have more range to understand.
As we move through life, there are moments when we recognize that we are simply ‘making due’. One way that I have been making due is by leaning into a warped perception of reality, so I have decided to share with you all what my experience has been for the sake of taking a step to do the work necessary to grow up. This is the messy work of living.
I hope you find something to take with you. 💛
